I really liked this! Great job!
Hi All,
As well as having, a really great week end , I had the VERY great personal pleasure of opening Pearsons cornor,in memory of my dear Dad. He really was a great engineer , exceptionally patient & I know he would have been rather shy about all the fuss .
I confess to being deeply flattered on his behalf when the idea was suggested Again VERY GRATEFUL THANKS to Jean, Mike Cook for the construction & of course Mike Shepherd .. who knew Dad well & Marcus who helped Mike S with lots of the hard work clearing the arch workshop.
Now it seems as a result I have made a whole lot more friends as a result & thanks again to Jean , Rumcars will be seeing me again with my overalls on & spanners in my hand to help out in ANY way I can .Otherwise my little knowledge will be wasted
Thanks again Jackie
Hi to Jean Hammond and all the the team who made our visit so enjoyable, great to visit again and see the progress made, congratulations on the opening of Pearsons Corner, as for the weathervane presented to Jean it was a very well thought out and fitting tribute in memory of Edwin.
Best wishes for the future from
Dave and Dawn
I totally concur with Mum (for once!) It was a fantastic day & everything ran smoothly thanks to Chris, who seems to take everything in his stride & our wonderful band of Marshals. Clearly they made a great impression on the ladies from the Heart of Kent Hospice & Kent Air Ambulance stand who asked me to make sure their thanks was passed on as they were so well looked after & they were aching from laughing so much! "Micro Marshal" was not seen by his parents for nearly 2 days & claimed he had had the best weekencd of his life. We were all bowled over by the magnificent weather vane presentation for which we thank everyone involved. It was lovely to see so many familiar faces + some new ones too. I have already spoken to several local people who saw the strange little cars whizzing about on Saturday & apparently caused quite a stir in the village. I also noted a lovely rainbow coloured sheen to the Boarden Lane tarmac in the persistant Monday morning rain - the visiting bubble cars may have gone but they are not forgotten. Thanks one & all for a brilliant weekend.
Lesley, quick Mick & Micro Marshal
The sucess of the weekend was due to our TOP BANANA and his team of Marshalls . A BIG THANK YOU to all of them and their lady wives who helped too from the Hammond Family. Without you people the event would not have happened.
Thank you to all the people that came, all those that brought cars and those that helped. I think it was the best event we have held so far. But then again I am biased. Chris Thomas , Top Banana
What a great event!!
